216 engine won't turn

    my buddy picked up a 48 Chevy fleetline
    Not a truck but wanted to share pic
    He tried to turn engine but it was stuck so he started to remove it for a 235 and this is what he found

    I've never seen anything like that before
    Also the engine was intact only thing off was the water pump
