how do you tell if odd or even fire, i know they changed around
85 or 86 but i know very little about the v-6.

I have a V6 in my 86 GMC 1\2 ton and given it has over 250K, I'm still impressed with how much low end torque it produces and the fact it only burns blue at start-up. Figure I have about another 100k before needing a rebuild. In any event, not sure I completely understand your question but gather you're referring to the firing order? If that's the case, I picked up a shop manual by Haynes and it's been real helpful.
