Ran into the same thing on a 63 Fleetside that had no trim holes. First taped the trim on and adjusted till satisfied then ran tape above and below each trim piece to mark hole locations on the tape, DON"T use a Marks Alot or Sharpie directly on the paint, it stains. The trim clip holes will go half way between the tape strips. If a hole is in the wrong place don't sweat it because the trim will cover it anyway. Just make a new one and put a plug of dum-dum in the goof hole to keep water from getting under the trim.
