Does anyone know if the VIN. or Ser. number is stamped anywhere on the frame for this year? Anywhere other than the stainless, riveted tag in the left, rear door pillar? Steve.
I know : It's NOWHERE except on the damned door tag . I took my entire truck apart to look for one as I was replacing the rusted out cab, never found any ' hidden ' VIN like even my olds Chevy II's had . The lying butthead (fantastic body works and paint tho') who did the body works and paint , said he'd stamp my frame whilst it was all apart but didn't .
Ok, thanks, Nate. My Dads '67 C-10 is so rusty, I had no idea where to look on the frame. I did notice the stamped numbers on the original 283, do not include a partial VIN. Curious, because my cousins '67 Camaro does have the VIN, stamped on the original 350. Steve.
Steve, vwnate1 is wrong he is giving you "Bogus" info. The pic below shows the two "other" locations on the frame. This pic is for all 67-72 Chevrolet Trucks.
I think you need glasses or at least have your eyes re checked. The picture below shows two other locations.
Thanks, mikiesride, for the additional information. Dads old C 10, was given to our local salvage yard guy. Not much left of it, after a lifetime in the midwest. Good news is, the salvage yard guy loves that body style, and intends to make several trucks into one good one. Steve.
