howdy guys. I have been thinking of swapping a 700R4 from an 87 monte carlo into my 72 pickup. my concerns is if it will fit and and if it will hold up to the horsepower from my engine, a 350 bored all the way out with a 400 crank.

Yes it should ;
Depends much on how you drive it ~ hard launches to spin the tires and other childish tricks will burst any Slushbox .
There are places that can make internal changes so it shifts better and handles more power easily .

They will easily hold 3-400 hp, depending on how you beat them.
