71 stuff for my 64

A guy in town has all the 71 suspension stuff that he says I can use for my 64. This would include:
front cross member with disc brakes complete, including booster and MC. $300
power steering gearbox hoses and pump:$65
3.07-1 rear end assy $350

I'm thinkinh about getting the PS stuff and the rear end.
Whats the deal on the rear end? I like the fact that it is 3.07-1 because I'm building the truck as an economical custom.
I'll need to buy lowering spindles so I think I'll skip on the front cross member.
Does this sound like a good deal?
Any info on the rear end? Will it install easily in my truck?

The PS stuff sounds like a decent price.

The rearend sounds a little pricey to me unless it has been rebuilt. Something else you will want to consider by going with a 3.07 ratio is will your motor have enough power to push the truck without struggling. If not, then you will actually hurt the fuel economy of the truck by using such a high gear.

Well,, maybe. The entire front crossmember and all steering and suspension will bolt up, after drilling a few holes, to your frame.

It's easier with all the correct stuff, like tie rod ends and center link, than trying to get the earlier tie rods to work with later spindles.
You will get disk brakes to boot. The price sounds good, but assume that you will need to have the rotors ground, ball joints and bushings replaced, and possible outer tie rod ends.
Still, if you consider a disk brake kit will run you about twice as much, not including the MC and booster, it could be a good price depending on how much needs to be rebuilt.

The rear does seem high. You will need to select a transmission carefully with that rear end ratio too.

I have decide to go with new stuff. I can get the complete power disc brake setup with droped spindles for 750 at a place here in town. I can piece a new power steering setup together, with the Rez kit for a little under 400. Then I'll just need 2"drop springs to finish the drop.
