78 c-30 help

I have a 78 c-30 with dual tanks. It sat for about 2 years but will run when fuel is poured in the carb. I cant seem to get the fuel pump primed. could the diaphram be "gone or am I not giving it enough time. It has a 454ci eng.

It sounds as if your fuel pump has gone out.The diapham has rip in it and it will not pump fuel.

My truck has to have at least two gallons of gas in the tank before it will pick up fuel, but it usually will prime when you pour gas in the carb and get it to run for a minute. Fuel pumps are cheap
