'79 sub front end

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Feb-09-05 AT 09:36 PM (CST)]I got a 79 1/2 ton burb whith full time 4x4, 350, th350,np203.and whenever I turn this thing when its moving theres a terrible noise that comes from the front end, kinda sounds like metal rubbing metal.and I haveta give it quite a bit more gas to make it move while turning.at first I thought it was the 31x10.5 tires rubbing,but those dont rub at all.runs fine out on the road.thanks for any help.Karl

Does it just do it when your wheels are turned all the way? If it does u might want to check your universals joints. jack the front up and u might have to put it in neutral because its all time 4wd make sure u chock the back. lay under there move the wheels back and forth see if there junk. If there ok pull the front cover and check for metal shavings in the diff. That will give u and idea. Good luck!
