Has this happend to any of you guys
i was doing some sanding with a da sander and my compressor stopped filling the tank and just kept running.
i did have a box sitting on top of it so it got hot and started to melt the shroud.
so what do you guys think repairable or am i S O L
Looks like some old school hand sanding on some fresh filler.
Robert:eek:

It kinda depends on what compressor you have. If it's one with an aluminum pump it's probably light duty and replacing might be as cheap as repairing. More than likely it's a broken/stuck reed valve so google or go to ebay with the model and/or serial number and see what a new reed valve plate would run. You will also need gaskets. If it is a cast iron pump unit then it's definitely worth repairing.

fixed it

yup thats what it was the reed valve broken and worn/overheated gasket
found the part put it back together and it worked. I think the next time i run it hard i will point a small fan at it.
