I want to replace my old external regulator alternator with a rebuilt one with an internal regulator. I know this is not a difficult procedure, does anyone know the details. Which wires get cut and connected where?
Our hosts here at ChevyDuty sell a conversion harness that makes this a 15 minute job.
Mount the alternator, remove the voltage regulator, plug on end of the harness into the new alternator, plug the other end into the old voltage regulator harness. DONE
Foolproof and looks good too. I've used it on my 64 panel and a 72 Chevelle.
Thanks for the tip. I actually had already found that advice (from you) when I later used the search. I will do that first next time. I will be getting that kit.
