Thanks Nate. I'm trying to listen. I just have to be patient. You are right as nothing is selling quickly.
Nate makes a good point (as always!) I've always said that a picture makes a bad truck look good and a good truck look mediocre! Rust never sleeps and is your worst enemy! Any place on a vehicle where 2 pieces of metal are joined together will rust! End of subject! Painting over it will give it curb appeal, but it will not stop doing its cancerous thing. By the time you see the paint blister, rust has eaten away at most of the good metal, leaving you with nothing but a rust bucket. Any place on a vehicle where dirt and water can accumulate will start the process. Lower back cab corners are the worst on AD's. Toe boards, which are normally covered up by a rubber floor mat, are problematic. Bed sides, below the bed, have a tendency to rust through. Fenders can be an issue too. GM did not undercoat the fenders, but merely painted them and slung them on. The first gravel road that the original owner drove down started the paint chipping process. If you were lucky, on a hot summer day, you could sling enough tar off a "tar and chip" road to undercoat your fenders. Never buy something as old as these trucks sight unseen. Go look at them, crawl under them, ask permission to pull up the floor mats and take good mental notes! It takes a lot of money to stop rust, especially after it's too late! Ken

My bad~ Another reason I ended up with my GMC? I forget~ Not all ADs are as rust free as mine is. The frame on mine is perfect everywhere, and the cab only had very minor rust in the expected areas. Of course, it IS a GMC...
Sandy ~ Here Ya Go THIS is what I was talking about ~ at most , this is a $10,000 truck , you can fly in and drive it home and spend your remaining ' restoration ' dollars on a new Mar-K stock bed , have it painted to match and be done . NOTE : this truck IS NOT ' restored ' and has many visable defects and things left undone but is a *very* good place to begin as the hard and most expen$ive work has been done . , I'd not be shy about grinding the price down to $10K if not less . Right now it has : V-8 & auto tranny , working AC , lowered modern suspension (ick) , fancy wheels & tires , current tags & title , decent paint & upholstery . Etc. , etc. you can begin driving and enjoying this old Task Force rig right away , wierd paint & bed not withstanding .
Blue truck doesn't LOOK bad, but the pic.s are from '07. May be worth looking at, but beware. Cab corners are frequently bondo'd over. Shine a light down into the corner behind seat to look for bondo and rust out. Pull back mat to see floor, may be swiss cheese. Check kick panels for rust out at the bottom. Look under the fenders at the channel between cab corner and kick panel, these rust out frequently.....mine are both rough, one has fiberglass in it. Splash aprons between bed and running boards rust from inside out. Front bed panels rust out at the bottom where the wood contacts it. Lay under dash with flashlight and look up around cowl vent for rust out and bondo. Don't worry about surface rust under there, as Chevy never painted there. Back bottom of driver,s fenders like to collect mud and rust. Check frame where bed and cab come together, likes to rust out from the top. Check door bottoms for bondo and rust. Look for the album of the 53 thread and the album of the 50 under my screen name, they both show typical rust issues, some extreme.
