I'm almost done with my 64 truck. All I need now is a good sound system. I want an in dash stereo CD player, four 6x9 speakers, two 8" sub-woofers, and an amp to drive the sub-woofers. However, I want to do the installation myself(might as well, I've done everything else), which creates a little problem.(no experience) Can anyone tell me where I can go on the internet to find clear instructions on how to install all this, or maybe even a good audio system FORUM I could visit where I might find invaluable info for my new sound system? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. THANKS!!!

Call Crutchfield, I have bought several systems from them over the years. They will talk to you about what you want out of the system, wide range of prices and sell very handy & easy to use installation kits.

When your done with them the system will be all you dreamed of at an economical price. Trust me, I have tried the short cut method since I was a kid, mixmatching components, buying cheap junk from K-mart etc.. In the end I was always diappointed. Do it right the first time. After all the money you've already spent, whats another couple hundred bucks?

http://www.custom-autosound.com/ List several options for great systems that will fit the original cut out in the dash and have a factory original look. I hope you have relocated the gas tank if you are going to pack all of that into a 64. I put a pair of 6x9 polk audio in the doors in a cutout from my high school days back in 75. Chevy duty is a dealer for custom autosound.

thanks for your help. yes, I did relocate my gas tank, so I've got lots of room for all my audio stuff. ended up getting my stuff from Quality Auto Sound just this morning. it's not gonna be an original factory look, but it's sure gonna sound good. Thanks again!!
