Brake/clutch pedal pivot rod remova

Hi all, I have a 51 chev 1/2 ton that I am changing to the dual master cylinder after upgrading to front discs. Of course the new conversion bracket bolts onto the existing bracket but it offsets the pedal plunger 1 1/4" to far to one side.My question is how do you remove the pivot shaft that the clutch pedal/brake padal pivot on.I can turn the nut that passes through the frame but the other end which has some type of spring assembly and steel clip turns also. Is there some special tool or something to remove this? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Ron

I'm going from memory here so....
If you push in on the metal disk on the spring end it has a clip if the center that can be popped out with a small screwdriver. You may have to dig through lots of grease to get to it. Once that is out the disk, spring, pedals and everything else can slide off of the shaft. I believe that the pivot shaft actually has a flat spot that you can put a wrench on to get the nut loose.

I will let you know. Not going to change pedal adjustments, just trying to get the existing bracket out to make modifications to bolt the new master on.The pivot arm runs through the bracket so I need to remove it to get the existing bracket out. Ron
