Broken rear wheel stud

I have a broken wheel stud on the drivers side rear wheel. I thought it was time to remove it and replace it with a new one. My problem is I assumed I just needed a B F hammer to get it out. I tried this, added heat tried again and also sprayed with penetrating oil. It did not even budge.

Is there a trick to removing this without removing the axle, or can it be drilled out?

I'm not sure the AD trucks are the same as TF, but I'll bet Ken's life that they are.

The lug bolts are swagged in place. See this http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/gmc/5559mm/5559mm666.html for removal instructions. You may have to back up a few pages to get the drawings referred to in "wheel bolt replacement", 2nd paragraph in right side column. I successfully used this procedure on my '57 when installing disk brakes on the stock front hubs.

Thanks Bill. I drilled out the broken stud, went to auto zone and got a new one. I put it in the freezer for a couple hours, put it in the hole, put a couple large washers on the thread side an tightened it flush.Took the nut and washers off. Put the wheel on and now good to go. The stud does have the splines in it, makes it very tight.
