Hello Everyone,

If I replaced my 1959 chevy cab with a 1956 cab, the cab is the only body part changed on my 1959, what hood hinges should I used, the 1959 or the 1956 hood hinges?

Question are the hinge bolt holes for the hood in the same location? dimension apart on both years where attached to the hood?

I bet if you are using the original 59 fenders, then you would use 59 hinges. However, I have not done this and I only have 59s, I don't even have a 56 around to look at for comparison.

I know this does not really help, sorry. Too much coffee this morning so I had to speak up even when I didn't know what I was talking about

replacing 59 cab

I replaced my 57 cab w/ a 59 cab & the firewall mounted battery box was different, but I used the hinges from my 57.

56 Hinges are different, you will need to use the 59 Hinges,
Also 56 Cabs are different were the gas pedal mounts than the
57 to 59 cabs,57-8-9's mount to the cab floor and trans cover as
55-56's bolt up to the firewall.
Good luck with your truck,
Allen
