I noticed today i was helping a buddy change his tire that the newer chevy's are 6 lug. I havent measured yet but does anyone know if the newer 6 lug wheels are the same as the old 6 lug?

Nope. The bolt pattern is identical, but the opening for the front hub is too small..

Dvalentine, thanks for the reply. What if i put then on a lathe and turned them. i have not looked close enough to see if there is enough material around it to do it. but just wanted your opinion. you seem to be very knowledgable on these vehicles.

I guess I would vote against trying to widen them on a lathe.

Two reasons. Saftey is probably the most important. You may compromise the integrirty of the rim and not know it. ( until it was too late!)

And,,, you will wind up with a set of wheels that have that cheezy factory "look".. ;)

well agree with the look because i spent last night looking at rims and was not impressed at all.
