    cold weather

its been around 52-65F during the day and around 28-35F at night, it rained over the weekend. This is the time of year I dislike, go to work when it's dark, get home when it's dark. :(

it is a mild 55 today, which gave me time to take everything behind the cab off of the truck (minus the suspension, ill do that tomorrow) I am trying to tear this baby down before it gets down to freezing

    Making Progress

Kyle, do yourself a huge favor. Take as many pictures as possible from every angle imaginable of your disassembly process. And get a bunch of plastic baggies and a marker and put bolts, small parts, etc etc in labeled bags for future reassembly. Believe me, you will thank yourself when you start putting it back together.

Did i mention take a lot of pictures?

Kyle, I agree with Ken 50 PU take as many photos from all angles,Use rolls of masking tape to mark every little item, draw pictures, put parts from different areas into certain boxes, pray some The more the better it is amazing what can happen when the puzzle tries to go back together. Good Luck better hurry your weather is odd like ours but change is due later this week.

i have a small advantage on the game, and also a small disadvantage. The advantage is, a close family friend just got done building a 48, and is in the process of building a 51, both of which i have access to for reference. I also have tyhe family friend, his son, and that guys son, who are all more than willing to help me. They know the trucks inside and out. The disadvantage is, after disassembling everything but the cab from the frame. 14 bolts were salvageable. AND WE ALL KNOW 14 bolts doesn't put a truck together

Kyle, you have no small disadvantage because you only have 14 bolts. My advice to you is: throw them away and buy 14 new ones. There are a million places to buy new bolts, nuts, washers, fasteners, etc. this website sells everything you can imagine (with the exception of clutch head bolts). You just have to know how many you need. www.totallystainless.net i think page 56 of their online catalog shows everything you need.

now your thinking what im thinking ken. At first i was angry, but then i hoped they would break because its a whole lot easier to buy the replacements. I can coat them in anti-seize as well. Maybe someone in 50 years will be able to take this thing apart again

    Take pics:eek:

    bag up the parts:eek:

    label them:eek:

Wheres the fun in that???????? nothing on gods earth can beat that feeling on a sunday evening in the workshop with a freshly rebuilt item and one spare odd shaped shim or washer left over:p

Rip it apart like a wild banshee and throw all the bits mixed up into different boxes then put the boxes in various places around your property, you will REALLY get to know your truck when you re-build her and have a massive sense of achevement when you finish:cool:

    Little labels, jeez, you Yanks;)

    Well ;

Here in Sunny So. Cal. we've been having 40° nights for a while , I like 'em like that even if I do have to close the kitchen window when it's windy :)

We had a rainy weekend , cleared out sunday morning so I grabbed my tools and dug into the PanzerWagon , discovered about 100 horespower that'd gone missing :D now to see if I'll wreck it or get too many tickets .

I like to put ice cubes in my beer so I don't quite get the referance to it being too cold to drink ??

Just remember : there is NO " Global Warming " ! all this goofy weather is normal  yeah right , sure it is ! .
