Yeah Baby, that's what I'm talkin' about!
I have seen that color up close and personal and I think it looks great on these old trucks. The guy that is painting my truck is putting that color on his 70 Chevy pickup. Are you going to throw chorme at it or go low profile?

I saw it for myself, but could not bring the baby home because it is VERY stormy here today and you would guess.... it's 80% chance of rain, hail and again very stormy weather tomorrow. But... at least it's painted, clearcoated and baked on. She looks great and the truck ain't bad either :D

    Chrome

Tailgator, it's gona have chrome everywhere that it is possible to put chrome.

The Boop likes the shinny stuff, as she puts it. The grill is painted to match with chrome front, wheels are polished mag, new or repolished stainless inside and out, new radio (note the modified dash, that was fun) instrument bezel chromed etc, etc

Lots of shinny stuff per the Boop :D

B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l baby! Since you didn't paint it blue and silver with a big star on each door, might I suggest you finish that paint job off with a big, bold arrowhead on each door with white into yellow flames sliding across the hood and fenders?:D
Now that it's take-home time, I just checked the FA and it is predicting daily hailstorms throughout the next 3 weeks!
Here's hoping you make it safely home! I can hear that thing purring from way up here in Kansas!

Zig ain't goin' to be happy till somebody arrowheads one of their trucks. Hey Zig, since you have the design in your head, why don't you put it on your ride? Or, get one of these artistic types that do air brush drawing like the ones that Chip Foose does to do one up and post it on here? In fact, does anyone know someone who does that? I woul dlike to get a good airbrush version of my truck to put on the wall in my basement rec room.

Zig, as long as he's waited for this day, he'll probably "brave" a hurricane Rita to get it home! And BTW, it's candy apple red, not KC Chief red, so the arrowhead won't look right on it! And believe it or not, not every Texan thinks that Blue and Silver is cool. LUV YA BLUE!

My artistic daughter who is home for Christimas break ( and has no intentionof ever drawing a big ole noisy truck) told me what mixed media is. Do you have an example you can share? This could be a business.

    Spiffy New Paint !!

    Wow WOW WOW ! now that's what I call a nice truck ! .

The dash looks very well done too .

I agree , lots of polished stainless and chrome will be nice .

Now you can start assembly whilst waiting for the bed to be finished...

You were right ,patience worked , I'd gone and made a fool of myself fighting with the guy but you persevered and got a killer paint job .

    seeing red

Looks great! Ahhh, I remember the days of a holy dash! Actually, my back still remembers the one neat move it went through to get that nut on the retaining post of the gauge cluster. Boy we had fun THAT day! Seeing that dash of yours made me think I oughta post a picture of what I did with my gauges. Being as though mine's a GMC, I went with the original tan(?) faces. But a red dash, tan faces and a grayish face plate had my tummy turning. I decided to paint the face plates red while I had everything out and apart. Your Chevy at least is grayish on black, so it may not be that big a deal, but here's a photo of how mine turned out. Some of that chrome, too;)

By the way- sorry that my nasty old 228 ended up between your photos! I don't know how that happened, but I think people know you have a clip and an 8 in your truck:eek:

    Customized Dash

Hey Zig, I like the way you did you gauges. I have to redo my speedo since I changed the color of the truck. It is close but I have to do a little tweeking. Did you get that signal switch from CP? Mine is a 4 wire so I have to get another one to avoid having to add another light for brakes.

I am sure yoour little one's imagination runs wild in that playhouse. With all the outside noise from video games, internet and TV it is good to cultivate the imagination as much as possible. Otherwise thye tend to become gizmo zombies.

    Happy New Year,
    Bill

Yes Bill, the turn signal switch came from Br--hers. (Feel free to edit this CP) but it is the same thing (I believe) that CP has. (I would have bought mine from CP, but I had just started searching for parts and when there adds were all over the back of Custom Classic Trucks magazines, it's kind of hard not to notice. I still have my wiring diagram ifin' you need any help.
