Anybody have any ideas on relining the old bonded shoes on my 48 1 ton? Nobody in town does this anymore. 14 X 2 1/2" Huck type. Wouldn't mind trying it myself but don't know where to get the material and what to bond it with? Thanks Rick
I forget where you are located, Rick. When I put shoes on my (then) 3/4 ton, I got them through Tom's Truck Parts down in Miami, Oklahoma. You might do a google search and see if he could ship you some as I know those shoes are hard to come by for the heavier rigs. (Or at least it seems I remember having a hard time finding ANYthing that was for a 3/4 or above~)
I have a stack of NOS 3/4 ton & larger brake shoes that are still in the original GM boxes. We would need to do some research on the numbers but NOS will be better than bonded linings. PM me for more info.
