I have a '66 Chevy K20 with factory running gear. It has the factory 8 lug rear axle. I am interested in installing dual wheels on the rear. Clearance is not an issue since it has an Omaha Standard flatbed on it. Are there bolt on wheels that fit this application? Are the factory wheels from a '60-'66 Chevy C30 8 bolt and if so, will they fit on a C20/K20? Thanks for your input.
Installing dual wheels on rear of '66 Chevy K20 This is the look I am looking for and unsure if the wheels from a C30 will bolt onto the factory rear axle of a '66 K20. Any insight or input would be appreciated. Thanks. Tony
I don't know, the axles on your truck look pretty darn solid. The "tonnage" of a truck is based upon the suspension, not the rear end so you could effectively put dual wheels onto that rear end without throwing anything out of limbo. C-30 wheels are too big for the application, I imagine. You should be able to find a set of duals that have the same bolt pattern. Just remember to check the length of the lug studs, and realize that the inner most tire tracks behind the front. The dual wheel should stick out, not be tucked under.
aimless: Thanks for the input. I am going to have to take a look at my friends '66 Chevy C30, in order to determine my fate. Tony
Dual wheels on '66 Chevy K20 I think I will go a different route on BIGBLUE. What do you think of these 17"?
