emergency brake cable crossmember

I have a63 gmc stepside i replaced the v-6 305 with a 350 4bolt main,and i also replaced the standard transmission with a turbo 350.My question is in order to place the new trany crossmember,i have to move the emergency brake cable crossmember,now theres a lot of slack in the cabeles.What do i do,please help.
One more question,with the motor and trany bolted up to the new motor mounts,and trany crossmember,is this basicly where it's all going to sit,or is there going to be any adjustments i'm going to have to make.Please help.thanks jesse

Once the motor is sitting on the motor mounts, and the trans crossmember has been placed so the trans mount pad is bolted to the trans,,, That's It ! It dosn't need to be moved further. ( Now is the time to measure for the drivshaft. )

You didn't say, but I'm guessing that you moved the e-brake brace back, causing the slack.
Another way of hooking the e-brake back up is to remove the upright brace that holds all the e-brake stuff from the old crossmember.

Take that bracing and weld it to the underside of the new trans crossmember. Then install the e-brake stuff back on the brace. That will move the e-brake stuff back very close to where it was originally and will allow the cables to be adjusted.

Yet another solution is to use an aftermarket e-brake setup, like Lokar, for example. That requires replacing the cables and the hand lever for a floor mounted lever.
