Hi guys I'm new and hope someone can help me, I have an 87 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive & a 86 1/2 ton 4x4. what do I have to do to put the fuel injected 87 engine in my 86, are trans. the same,use wiring harness from 87? will frame mounted fuel pump work? any help? sure like to have f.i. in my 4x4 thanks.

What kind of motor/trans combos do you have?
To get the trans from the '87 into the '86 you'd have to change the output shaft to hook up the transfer case so its better if you keep the one that's in there now.
You'll need the wiring harness, ECM, and everything from the throttle body to the fuel tank when you swap the engine over.
