Hey all you G men. Can someone post a picture or too showing how the radiator support mounts to the frame. I am not entirely certain I have the right support after speaking with deadzonetruckin. Thanks

Yup~ That's what it looks like, and that's how I put mine in. Radiator support frame is sandwiched in between those parts. Great picture, DZ!

The first picture looks like a surround from some other vehicle. The u shaped bolt should go through from side rail to side rail, not front to back like the one you show seems to be set up for.
I'll get pictures of mine tonight and show you how mine mounts.
I'm sure by then someone will have set things straight, however.

Hard to tell by the picture of your radiator support but, it looks like you have a Chevy radiator support & the GMC support is completely different.... they will not interchange.

If you do not have the correct GMC support... you will be needing everthing that is GMC specific ....circled on the schematic.

Here is the complete GMC radiator support assembly with the correct mount.

I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find any better pictures and info than these guys have produced!!! I was not aware that the Chevy's were not interchangeable with these parts...

Thanks Zig for taking the time. No such thing as too many pictures when trying to figure something out. How do you like the alternator set up? Did you use a specific alternator? Any advice on the install if I go that route. Not sure why I would need to but good to know about it just in case.

The alternator was part of that 12 volt conversion thing. I believe it was out of an 80's something firebird? The main thing is that it has the single wire lead. The arm was from O'Realllly. I used the old genny adapter plate with the alternator. It took a bit of "crafting", but it finally fit and works fine.
Taking pictures of my truck got me back out there. I actually spent most of the day doing some wiring.
