According to the serial number on my truck, she had a birthday some time this month! She's 62 and doesn't look it!

Tires and rims ?

Hey Ken

What size tires does your ride have and are they Radial tires or diagonal tires? If these are radial do you still have the original steel rims on it to?

Flashlight, are you out of your mind? Roll it out means pushing it back in! You ever pushed one of these heavy things up an incline?:eek: My back hurts just thinking about that!:D

Martinius, those are original 15" rims. The tires are Diamondback radial tires P215-75-R15.
 
she may be sixty two but she looks like she was just born. here in canada they just raised the age for government pension to 67 so you gotta keep the old girl in shape as she will have to work longer:)

My serial number starts as follows: 3HPC-xxxx. 3 stands for the St. Louis assembly plant, H is the designation for 1950, P is a 3100 series, and C stands for the month of assembly, C being March.

Martinius, Diamondback tires have received the highest award this forum can bestow! Nate's blessing!:cool: He ran them on his '49 (may she rest in peace!)

Between Ol' Chebby and me, we've bought at least 5 sets of DB's. Both my rides have DB radials on them!

It means a lot to me , that the fine people here , value and trust my ideas and methods .

Those Diamond Backs , the guy says he's selling them and I hope to have first offer to buy them back as they're barely worn even after many years of Hauling , towing , bouncing sown rock strewn Desert Roads , sloshing through 6" of greasy mud in long abandoned Junkyards (they're not that hard to clean) , still have 90 % tread and white , white walls , some gouges from the rough use but it's a TRUCK ya know :rolleyes: .

Well worth every penny .

16" rims with 6.00x16 6ply bias tires were base equipment. You could have 15" rims with 6.70x15 6ply bias tires in '50 if you opted for RPO 288. They were available in '51 also as RPO 273.
