Help what make of transmission is fitted??

Hi Guys. I have a transmission oil leak where the driveshaft enters the back of the gearbox. The rear seal is leaking.

The problem I've got is the parts guy here in the UK says that it could be one of two transmissions, either a Warner T89 or SM318 or 319. I have a three speed manual (no overdrive) in my '65 C10 with a 230ci S6.

Does anyone know which transmission would have been fitted to my truck or how I can identify the make of transmission?

I've crawled underneath my truck today and identified the transmission as a SM318 as mine is identical to the one in the picture. However there no serial numbers stamped on it.

The T-89 is quite a bit differant in shape.

Tranny Output Seal

All you needs do is ever so carefully clean the seal , it has the part # casted into it in raised numbers and/or letters.....

Any competent Bearing & Seal Jobber will be able to get one for you wit the #'s

Ask if they can order you a Viton seal , they tend to last longer .
