Evan, thanks for the info. I need to replace gas springs that hold the hood up and needed the weight to order the correct ones. I didn't have access to the hood to weigh it myself.
Garya--be aware that the mounting points also figure in big time on the cylinder rate. You probably already know that the closer you mount to the back of the hood the stronger the cylinder needed and much lower rate is required as you move the mounting point forward. This rusty old brain has forgottin it's studies on vectors but any pilot friend or whiz kid could give you the rate needed in a flash.
