Horn button...again... on my 63 c10 standard.

Guys, I am so confused on how the whole horn button thing goes together. I have it together, but, not sure it's right. (Just finished the wiring, so I haven't put a battery charger to the system yet to see if the horn works).

I ordered the horn button assy from our sponsor here and it came with a new bushing, a spring, and what I'd call a spring cap.

I have NO clue how this stuff goes together. I have it together now, but, the horn button is "wobbly",maybe too much so.

I did not install the spring because I could not see how it goes in the assy, and, the service manual does not show a spring.

Can anyone give me some advice on this one?

this looks very close to what i have. on mine, the horn button fits inside a plastic housing. i am pretty sure i have things assembled in the order you are showing.

there are a couple of things missing from your pics... on the "clean area" pic, you need 2 or 3 beers, a box of bandaids and a bottle of peroxide.
 
That was all off camera. I probably should list those in the "items not shown" catagory....

LOVE IT

My son-in-law has a 61. He was here Fathers Day, sat in the cab iand in about 2 minutes had the damned thing assembled and working.
