Looks great Rico I had the same problem with margins. Very time consuming fix. It looks like you have it on the run now.

Thank you Nate, just wish I was as good as those body men. Sometimes it feels like it's taking me forever when those body men would have already been done, but it is, what it is. First time doing this body work guess it's going to take longer than most, but I will do my best to make it look good. I sprayed some more parts with primer and started sanding my inner fenders. Didn't see the dents so back to the body filler. I want the inner fenders smooth so the engine compartment shows off the engine not the dents, lol

And my inner fenders, since I put primer on it and found dents I needed to sand them down with 80 grit so the body filler would have something to grab on to.

    Doing The J.O.B.

    I'm with you Rico ~

The finished job says a lot about who did it .

I'm just a Mechanic but I take great pains to try and make my work look good as well as work properly .

I've been working on my '69 C/10 with my Painter , he's in WAY over his head so I'll prolly wind up doing the final assembly , his workers destroyed the good original Factory AC and heater boxes , they're not re popped yet so I have been trolling Junk Yards and collecting parts, cherry picking this and that ~ I need to make a post soon as I made a serious score yesterday and have some pix to share .

Carry on , your work looks very good to me .

Thanks for the confidence Nate, my doors needed more work so I took a hard flat sanding board and went over it until it was smooth which took it down to metal in some places. I then had to reprime them and now have to wait a week for the primer to shrink. In the mean time I prime more parts, you don"t realize how much there is to a truck until you have to do all the body work and put it primer. Lol
Also my smooth running boards from eBay and tailgate from Mar-K showed up

I am lovin' these photo's of parts hanging from cross sills, saw horses and rafters. Your truck is going to be truly awesome.

You had me 100% until you wrote "smooth tailgate". Awe come on Rico, say it ain't so. Your truck needs those funky pre-54 letters on the tailgate. There's still hope though, maybe paint them as ghost letters?

Sorry, I'll be the first to admit I ain't right, in the head.

Thanks Zig, I thought it would have been painted already, but I keep running into little problems. It has to be right because once it's painted there's no turning back:rolleyes:

Nothing wrong with that John, I just like clean lines and all one color. No Distractions. I always though I wanted a smooth tailgate and after my wife confirming she like it smooth too that had to be it. I thought about putting 54 in the headliner. But with the cab being 54 and the front clip and bed being '47-53 not so sure any year would look right! :)

Well, slowly putting my truck together for the last time. Because I changed the inner fenders, running boards and bought a front roll pan, need to make sure the truck fits properly. Better to do it now than have a surprise later. So far so good. My custom running boards don't fit so will have to send them back to be shortened, can't save enough about Innovations in Nevada, that guy(Tony) is top notch. I told him I had a problem and he told me whatever I want he will do for me, even if I want my money back. Wish all companies were that way where they stood behind there product.

    Very Nice.

Rico, you sure are making progress on your project. Impressive. Wish I could move so fast. I like the custom bottom grill-bar panel you've come up with. Never seen one like it.

Thank you Steve, everyone keeps telling me to take a break. I want this project done so my dreams of driving it will stop.
The front piece you like is a roll pan that I found on the Internet, not to many trucks have them and since I didn't want the bumpers it gave it a nice clean look.

Indeed it does! That would be the same thing I'd do if I had a Chevy. I think they look great that way. (especially if they are low to the ground)

Rico that truck looks great, when you get close to the finish line it's hard to stop. I also like the front pan. Do you know who makes them?
