Should be under the same name I use here 'e015475'
Mine's also soft mounted with the original Jag mounts using a cradle that keeps the factory caster. Working on getting the engine mounts into Jag cross-member too so I can reproduce the Jag's engine mounting system so the motor/suspension dynamics and vibration are the same as the factory XJ6. But most folks just weld in the Jag cross member
Let me know specifically what you'd like to know and I'll be happy to share what I know. I don't visit this board real often so you may want to send me a note too.
Great (or maybe feeble) minds run in the same direction sometimes. We mounted a Jag XJ6 independent rear in a 55 and used the entire cradle. Along with a Firebird front clip the ride is very good and very little road noise transmitted into the cab since we used rubber bushings instead of urethane. Inboard discs have been a problem under hard use as the heat transfers into the rear end seals. No problem when just cruising. I am a bit leery of the idea of the drive axles (half shafts) doing double duty as the upper control arm but it has worked for many years. The funny looking finish on the suspension parts is from being sprayed with liquid soap; we do this so when completely finished a water hose will wash away paint overspray and anything else spilled or sprayed on the painted parts.
Latroca -Probably the easiest way would be to send me an email at 'e015475'at'live.com' and let me know what you'd like for photos. If I don't have them I'll shoot them for you.
Coilover - Latroca was looking for front suspension info, but I'm with you on the concerns for the rear suspension. Here's an article on how to do a trailing arm addition to the Jag IRS-
Looks like the cage isn't going to work for me on this install because the air suspension system I'm trying to install is going to interfere with the cage. Back to the drawing board. Planning on the trailing arm arrangement shown in the UK article with an air spring on the arm near the axle.
They say that the Jag locating arm they used with this IRS on the XJS will actually pull the rear assembly in the mounts to act as sort of a 'rear steer' under hard cornering. I cant quite picture it, but it seems the design must be pretty robust, even without a trailing arm.
Picked up a 3.55 ratio locking diff for the Jag the other day - should help acceleration and still be OK on the highway with an overdrive trans. Finned cover for the Dana was a bonus!
