Kickdown cable

I have an 82 TH350C that I just rebult and put a B&M Transpak shift kit in. My problem is when my kickdown cable engages, my transmission is forced into 1st gear instead of 2nd??? Other than that, the tranny works GREAT. Can any give some suggestions that might help out?

You need to adjust your kickdown cable.It is engaging before it needs to.

thanks craig...about 10 minutes after i posted that, that is exactly what I did. I didn't think it would affect it that much, but sure enough.
