83 gmc k2500 It is still currently a work in progress. I hope to have on road this summer. I'll try to get some images up. It is a 1983 K2500 GMC.. Originally a 6.2, now 350M. When finished, will have 350M, TH700R4, 4.10 Gears with 14 Bolt FF rear with Eaton posi, 10 bolt 8.5 front with Hummer Gleason diff ( similar to TrueTrac or Zexel ), Sierra Classic trim Blue, dual 20 gallon tanks, cargo lamp, cruise control, 81 factory tach. cluster, 8' Fisher Plow. Prior to reformulated gas could get 15.5 MPG highway with 4.10 and overdrive. Truck is C6P chassis, 8600 GVW, emissions exempt (leaded gas in the day), no computer, no catalytic converter(s). Another unique thing is the 700R4 and controls. Converter lockup is all with vacuum switch, inline switch for 4th gear lockup, 4th to 3rd downshift unlock switch and brake switch. Simple two wire circuit to lockup solenoid. GM did this for only 82 83 84 on 8600 GVW trucks.
1983 Chevrolet K-30 As new a Custom Deluxe K30 1 ton 4x4 single wheel, 350M motor TH400 NP205 transfer case, 14 bolt FF 10.5 rear, Dana 60 king pin front, 4.10 gears, single exhaust, cargo lamp, 9' Fisher plow. 9200 GVW emissions exempt (leaded gas in the day), no computer, no catalytic converters. Have done many upgrades, factory and aftermarket. Now has factory overload leafs with pads for 9400 GVW, OEM dual 20 gallon tanks, dual exhaust, Eaton locker in rear, class III hitch, pickup bed crane. Truck will perform just about any work within its physical limits. Truck is now mostly blue being finished in PPG DP60LF, very close to code 21 blue. Has been on road for me since 2002, towing, plowing hauling. Interior will be upgraded to Silverado trim. Other projects: 1973 C-30 Camper Special std. cab, Cheyenne Super 30, dual rear wheels, 10,000 GVW, Z-83 camper deluxe, dual batteries, Dana 70 HD rear, 4.10 with POWR-LOK, tachometer, cargo lamp. etc. 1986 CUCV D-30 1 ton 4x4 M1008 Pickup
83 Silverado Short Bed Here is my 83 Silverado Short Bed. It's built out of a ton of random parts from different trucks. Mainly, I scabbed parts off of my old 87 that looked exactly like this 83 before I wrecked it. So the 83 is just a result of me wrecking a truck that I once had and building another one since I wanted it back so bad . Anyway, It started out as a pretty standard blue long bed but we shortened the frame and did a ton of body and mechanical work to get it where it is today. the interior is silver with all of the trim, headliner, dash pad, seat etc being black. "silveradocustom" love that color, bet you can see that coming a mile off. what made you go with that color? I saw a 70's model long wheel base running around weatherford a few days ago but, it was a little brighter. nice truck though. "78 silverado" welcome to the site, good to have ya here!! hey mpeche923 I know what you mean I am always working on my 83 and even though I just put a new motor in it I still gotta lot of work to do. Been trying to start my body work but, the weather here won't stay decent for nothing.{Yeah I know this is Texas} Anyway I'm hoping to start working on it soon, its gonna look a little funny different colors for awhile but hey thats the way of a true chevy man anyway...LOL!! Hey david how ya doing? hows the truck coming?
1973 Here's my 1973 Cheyenne Super 10 Shortbed Fleetside. I've been working it on and off for about a year... before and now...
I have been pulling parts off the truck. I wanted to see what shape it was under all the exterior parts. I found a small amount of rust. I can fix all that. I will paint it this spring. I almost have all the parts to put it back together. I am glad to see so many trucks in this body style. I like them all!
Hello to all I'm Cameron and I'm a new member here. This is my first truck as I'm only 16. Its a 85 chevy silverado 4x4, it has a 79 400 small block bored.30, a 79 GM 12bolt rear end, basically everything but those parts and the paint is original. This used to be my uncles daily driver untill 06 because he was going through a divorce and gas was too much for it. But he gave it to me as he didn't want it to rot/rust, and to keep it in the family. So this truck has a sedimental value to me because ive been around it all my life. But if ya'll wanna know anything about it just ask me, as i love to talk about this truck. http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2204.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2130.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2135.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2137.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2131.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2139.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2140.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2141.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2142.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2144.jpg. http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2147.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2148.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2149.jpg http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/WVHunter1992/green truck/DSCN2150.jpg But if you haven't noticed by the pics this needs work...but i have wirebrushed and painted rustoleum paint underneath it after we brought her down, its in the shop now getting a crack in the frame, exhaust, and bed-to-frame mounts fixed. This truck has another 2 weeks hopefully before shes road leagal.
