Lowering a 65 full coil suspension

i was hoping someone might be able to give me some info on how to lower my 65 chevy. i have heard that you can cut the actual coils to make them shorter but am not really sure that is the best way. any help would be much appriciated.

I would avoid cutting the coil springs. There are a couple of ways you can achieve the same thing without cutting your coils. First, you can buy drop springs in different lengths, 1, 2, 3, 4 inch etc. for the front and or back. You can also use drop spindles to achieve a 2 or 2 1/2 inch drop in front OR you can do both. I used 4 inch drop springs in the rear and 2 1/2 inch drop spindles with 1 1/2 drop springs in front. Doing it this way keeps your good handling characteristics your truck is known for.

Don't even think of cutting your springs to lower your truck. Because if you do you wont be able to balance your wheel. After all its going to look crappy.
