Welllll.... This weekend came and went...

 

Ahhhh... So it did... And I didn't get much time in the garage. : (

Finishing up the fuel system this week, so hopefully I'll be firing it up this coming weekend... I'll keep you posted.

 

Okay, life (and work) have been keeping me from the garage, but I finally got back out there today to get back to the fuel line assembly! Hoping a few good nights out there this week will lead to a test drive this weekend!

 

As a side note (and I realize this may be in the wrong forum category) - one of the delays was due to the delivery of my wife's new '56 Chevy 6400 ! - I thought you guys might enjoy seeing it.

 

Maybe if you are lucky, she'll let you ride shotgun. That is AWE......SOME.

 

Okay, so I haven't been to the garage for a while - but finally got some time this weekend. I got the new engine started, and was close to the test drive - until I noticed the water pump leaking... So the requested video test drive won't be long now.

 

As a side note the headers, new pipes and flowmasters sound AWESOME!!!

The 5.3 had a water pump leak after first adding coolant... So tonight was a new water pump. Have to buy more coolant tomorrow... Getting closer!

 

The '47 is coming together... The 5.3L V8 is in, running great, and holding all fluids on it's own! Need to finish wiring the new 12v lights and tomorrow is looking like "test drive" day at last!

 

Well, the test drive was a success... Although the brakes could be described as "squishy" they did stop the truck many times, and I'm sure glad I changed the bad kingpin, the the steering was smooth and straight! Here's a pic while we were out and about.

 

I have a short video of it running if I can figure out how to get it posted here... For those of you asking for the video of the test drive, I'll try get one made this week... Go power is good, stopping power is less good - but works.
