Nice truck, Glad to hear you are keeping the 4 speed although I would have taken it off your hands. I have a '50 3600 as well. Floor shift seems more appropriate for old trucks. Take your time and think it out. That is the best part about it.
Turn Signal Wiring That's it ~ be aware the color codes change depending on the year and brand of 6 wire switch you use but all here are well advised to print that out and slip it into your FSM....
Thanks for the diagram Larry! I still have yet to do start the wiring... I am still trying to tackle the seat restoration which is taking A Lot longer than expected. I guess nothing can be done very fast when working on anything for this truck, so I am just going to do a part or two every so often in order to avoid burnout.
I am worried about the wiring in my truck too. I just ordered a new harness from Ezwire. The price was good. It will be a little bit before I get to it but I'll let you know how it goes.
Hey Everyone, I have finished the restoring the seats back to original, all I have to do now is install them! Cole
I got the vinyl seat covers from LMC Truck. The only issue I had when installing them was determining which fabric was the top and which was the bottom.
I after a couple weeks of being Real busy with classes and several long evenings, I have Finally managed to put together the interior of my truck! Here are a few pics of the finished seat installation as well as the gas tank/ seat belt installed.
Upholstery Hey there The Upholstery looks nice . Do you know if they make duo color seat covers fore light duty trucks like in red combined with offwhite ? Martinius.
I'm not quite sure on that one.. I would imagine with enough browsing online you would be able to find one, maybe a custom upholstery shop could help you out. There also might be someone else on the boards that could help.
Location Update Hey folks I have moved up to northern Minnesota for work now and am beginning to start working on my doors. I need new latches for both the right and left side and a new striker plate for the left side. Does anyone know of the best place to order these parts? I have looked online at a few locations but nothing that I have seen looks quite right.. Has anyone tried the latches from this site out, and have any success? Its a 1949 chevy.
Buy good used ones, nos if you can find them or those ones Russ installed on his, the china clipper ones I bought and installed I returned them because they just did not fit correctly.
Do the Trique latches require a lot of modifications to install? I'm pretty limited with the tools that I have to work with. I look at the thread about installing them and it looks kinda difficult...
