I thought I post a pic of my project, some of you might like that kind of stuff.
Started out as a '66 long bed that i bought for $100.-. Some things I'm doing to it are, air ride, convertible (roadster), suicide doors and so on. The list of modifications is long, but I want to be done for the Texas Heat Wave show this summer ( end of Juli). I'm not planning on entering the truck in any shows as a contender, just want to have a nice little custom truck that i can cruise around in and go to meets and shows with.

Here is the truck as it looks like right now

so I finally got the '66 back in the shop after a long year of working on other things and not having the space or time . Now I can continue with the build.

looks cool, would look bitchen with some white walls on black steel wheels.

took the cab off the frame today, the engine and tranny are next. I have a basic pic in my head of what i want to do with the truck, but keep modifying that while working on it.

yo FRANKS66-C-10 that looks DOPE!!!!!!! is thatta stock rearend? if not wut is it and did it bolt up to the suspention?...the 'drop' is kewl,,,luv the rims,,i gotta 66 i found fur 600 buxxx!!!! hahaa i jumped on that deal when i seen it,,almost gotter done tho ehhee,,,i cant find a short bed fleet side BED fur it,,i found a few long beds but i dont kno how to weld,,or chop yet,,go'n 2 learn tho,,but yea wut color is ur truck go'n 2 b??

the rear end is a 12 bolt from a '72 pontiac. I cut the brackets of the original rear axle and welded them to the 12 bolt.

Not sure on the color yet. I took the cab off and took the engine and tranny out, now I can clean the frame and modify it.

Nice project, I think the convertible look is pretty cool it also looks pretty cool on the 70's K5's...

Here are a few pics of another fella's truck who did a similar build. I can't remember the fella's name but I think it was a buddy of 283man. There was a thread on here about a year ago with a bunch of pictures of this truck.

I remember some of the pics, I had seen them on here. It's going to be an interesting build. The purists among the old truck crowd hate those kind of builds, but I don't care.

dont have to worry about me being a purist, the more the mods the better. make it what you want, not what "they" tell you to make!!

Finally set the engine into the frame. I needed to see where the engine sits and where the motor mounts will connect to the frame before I start boxing in the frame.

And no, it's not a V8

It's a BMW V12. I'm making my own intake setup with 12 throttle bodies. I like the look of the engine, looks somewhat old school with those valve covers.Making headers for it will be a lot of work, but it adds to the overall look of the engine
