    Toyota box mounts in the stock location, maintaining stock steering geometry. 800 series GM steering box kits mount forward of the axle, outside of the frame and have very short drag links which lead to bad bump steer.

    I've never talked to anyone who used the rack and pinion kit that mounts to the rear side of the I beam, but that would seem to be the best as long as you are keeping the I beam.

    I don't claim to be an expert. I have seen trucks for sale on ebay with dual spare tires, one on each side. Does that ring a bell to anyone?

    I found a military vehicle forum today with some info on the snogo trucks. A few guys there were trying to find some info on there trucks too. From what I read the plows went on several trucks from fords to internationals and apparently you can still call the company that converted them and get the history and spec.
