I purchased a Dana 60 with 6 lug for my 1965 GMC G1000 Wideside. When I picked it up the guy said it came out of the truck he had there and it was a 1969 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4. Not until I was looking to put disc brakes on it did I realize it should be an 8 lug. Unable to find a mach to my axles bolt pattern I found an article that says in 67 gmc put dana 44 on the dana 60 center. It also has 60-2 on the top of the center. Can anyone help identify this rear end and have any ideas for the brake swap? Th REAR Cover.jpg 20200724_190734.jpg anks

    First ; WELCOME ! .

This us a bit out of my ken but, IIRC there's a number stamped into the left side axle tube, once you find it and remove the paint it will allow you to decode the specific axle .

These days, 40 years on, many older trucks have been repaired or patched together so nothing should be assumed to be correct until you personally figure it out .

I hope this is helpful, sorry I don't know much about DANA axles .
