Got it. Spring was missing, but it shouldn't be hard to find a suitable sub at a decent hardware store. Will be in express mail tomorrow. Will send USPS tracking info then.

Sorry it took so long. There were two screws holding the drum to the hub hidden under 70 years of grease and grime. Neither the Master Parts Book nor the Maintenance Manual made reference to the screws.

What spring is it that your referring to that is missing?

Missing spring is shown on the picture you originally posted, with your red line running right through the middle of the spring, to the right near end of the missing piece.

It is also shown as item 4.6725 in this drawing I posted. Its purpose is to keep your new part (4.6575) from rattling.

Hi Bill, it's Jeff. I didn't have a spring on the other side so I never realized there needed to be one. I guess I'm tearing apart that side again and getting 2 springs. I just want to thank you for all you have done. I really appreciate it and will definitely pass it forward to anyone that needs help.

Need? Probably not. But these old trucks have enough rattles without us helping by leaving parts out.

    USPS tracking number is 9505513275191004895485
    Scheduled for delivery 1/7/21
    $8.30 to:
    Bill Hanlon
    949 Funf Kinder Rd
    Fredericksburg, TX 78624

Look closely at the picture of the part, near the spring. You will see an "8". I'll bet you the one he already has is stamped "7".

I looked through my selection of springs and found a perfect one, EXCEPT is was twice as long as need be. Cut it in half, put one spring where it should be (see picture) and then threaded the other one (for your missing spring, not shown in picture) through the eye of the cotter pin.

Hi Bill. Tim here. I'm needing the extension lever and spring for the drivers side of a '49 3100 if you think you may be able to find one.

Hi Bill, I see its been a while since this was posted, but wondering if your friend with the trailer made from the 3/4 ton GMC would have any of the drivers side brake parts left in it? Thank you.

I'll ask, but they would be real hard to get to. Driver's side is up against some immovable object. What parts are you looking for?

Thanks for the reply, we need 2 links #4.0125, 2 of the 3 pins that go throught the links, and the 2 small pins and springs that go through the center of the links, otherwise everthing else is there. Again, cant thank you enough for checking.

I'm looking for part #'s 4.6575 & 4.6725 for the drivers side along with the pins like what Derek is looking for. I found the links , so they are not needed. Also the pin that holds the E -brake lever in place. Once i have these I'll have the parts needed to complete the brake setup.
