I need some ideais on putting a 350 in my 62 Chevy. I want to put power steering on it in the future so i need to move the ALT. to the passenger side of the truck. If anyone knows were I can find any pictures on the internet it would be a big help [email protected]
 
You won't need to move the alternator to add power steering. You mount the power steering pump low. You won't need to move it even if you add air. Brackets are made by aftermarket folks to mount what you want, where you want. Or, you can use factory accessory mounts.
The only area to be concerned about is the Long/short water pump. After that it's mix-n-match.

Thanks Dvalentine, and I'm sure your right,but my thoughts were by moving the ALT the engine would look more perportioal (evened out)and give me more room to work on the power steering.The ALT has one wire that runs to the battery ,which is on that side so I'll have less wires and less clutter. Order the One-Wire conversion harness from out hosts here. No more wire running past the radiator to the battery. Your charging system will thank you later.
