No start/bump

    Got in my truck this morning to start it up and nothing; not even a bump.
    Battery is good, turn the key and everything seems to work, even the little orange light in the dash comes on and so do all the guages.
    I'm thinking its that black box on the front fire wall above the driver side light, dont know the proper term for this but its got something to do with the ingition??? any thoughts on this?? any help would be possible; thank you

    Hi Tex,

    As you already know, that's the voltage regulator. The only way that would effect "starting" is if the battery were dead.. It is part of the components used to charge the battery while driving...

    thanks Val; I was thinking if I try to jump or cross the srarter to see if the solinoid was good or not is this bad or good??

    You could take the starter OUT, and run it over to the local parts store, Kragen, etc etc,, and have them check it out...

    You have bad connection with the cables.Clean them and tighten and you should be fine.Turn head lights on then try to start if every thing goes out its the cables for sure.A little tow truck trick i used when i had my tow co.
