it's nice to know that I'm not the only teacher that can't sleep but will wish I could come tomorrow. One more day of P/T conferences and then rest-
I have no doubt that however you go, your ride will be killer!

I have the grill on my 54 painted. (See photos and search for Herbert and look for DCS01396)
There are lots of car shows here in Charlotte. It might have something to do with that little racetrack just outside of town. At one of these shows there were two brothers who had a canary yellow 54 that they had finished for their older brother who had passed on before the project was finished. They had built a hot rod. Real nice work too. The grill was chromed. In my opinion it did not blend well with the rest of the truck. I thought it brought to much attention to the grill which is distinctive on it’s own. They had the bumper chromed as well.

i like chrome. don't ask me why. maybe it's because mine is painted, but i think the chrome is pretty. even if it's a similar shade to the truck's color.

    Lapace,
Thanks for sharing your pics. Nice looking 54. I guess the grass or Grill in this case is always better on the other side of the fence. Either way, I'm glad they finally have a repop of the 54 grill. Those things where becoming hard to find and expensive for 1 that needed alot of work.

That grill was on the truck when I got it. A PO had at one point or another hit the nose and caved it in. Someone had put a large amount of bondo on it and painted it. When I got to working on it I cleaned the filler off and did a little hammering to see if I could get it a little better. At least now it does not have a pound of bondo. This helped me decide to go with paint.
