Original Firewall hole pattern

Them Holes

Rustydog, Okay on the mat clip hole. I didn't know they were that high up but it figures. I should be good to go now.

LaTroca52, Why?

Nate, Was that a stock installation location for a dealer installed turn signal system or just a weird idea?

Me I can't wait to count my holes!!! Come on Spring!!!!:D

Rusty Dog ;

I'm still trying to figure out why they put a turn signal flasher bracket in the engine compartment ?! .

Please enlighten me oh wise one. Where? That thing below and to the right of the heater valve? There is a matching one on the other side. Nothing was there when I got it, so I have no idea. This thing has more holes that appear to be for marker lights than I would ever imagine needing. Both the bumper fill panels have extra holes that look like they would be for a couple of small single mount lights, and the rear sides have 2 holes directly vertical and about a foot apart? I am planning on putting a brake and signal light in those spots, but I can't seem to find any pictures of one with something similar.
Sorry these are the best photos I have. Can't make out the holes on the front fill panel, but the back has 3 on both ends and I think the rest all match up with the mounting brackets.

T.S. Flasher Bracket

yes , that one below the heater valve :p .

I wonder what they're were doing with it , I've NEVER seem one under the hood that I can remember , GM surely didn't approve  .

Nice picture of the panel ! .

I'm definitely not anything close to an expert on these things. The 2 mounts appear to be stock as the holes are perfectly lined up and evenly spaced. They were also mounted facing the same way. Maybe it was a mount for some accessory item?
Again, not an expert, just a guess.

Nate,

Someone suggested they were used to hold the metal part on the wiring of the under hood light and that this one had 2 lights. I am clueless.

Hose clip, same as on the inner fender liner? Where are they located for the heater without the valve?

Nope

On both counts ~

Look in the factory accessory catalog to see how those items were installed .

It had a single horn mounted under the radiator splash apron. Didn't use anything that resembled these brackets. Might be possible it had 2 mounted on the firewall at some point?

AWESOME Super Thanks to HASSMAN

Hassman, THANKS for the attachment. I see it's for a 53 and I have a 49 so I know there are minor differences but this should answer the majority of the hole "whole" issue. :D
