:o I have seen that side of you Nate slip out here, not extreme, but it's still lurking within ya ;)

But that's good, heck it's all good. I have been a "Hot Rodder" my entire life but I fully understand the "What The Big Three Hath Made Let No Man Put Assunder" folks. Some cars and trucks deserve to be kept fully stock and the older I get, the more this sinks in.

That's a nice one .

My big complaint with Hot Rodders is this : for decades they'd buy some cherry old nail and rip it apart then loose interest or whatever and junk it two or three years later .

Fact is , 90 % of all Hod Rods wind up in the junkyard , never to hit the road again .

Them's the facts , Jack .

Going stock is always harder but they'll never admit it .

My vehicles are not to compensate for other inadequate parts on me :rolleyes: .

I have no issues with the likes of the good folks here ~ you're DRIVING and ENJOYING your old rigs , trailer queens and show rigs are trash to me .

Did a parts run tonight of glass and other misc items. I took a quick update picture.

Those rear fenders had a gallons of bondo shoved in them by me back in 1976. They don't look too bad pounded out.

 
Bare bones

Think of it this way build it the way you see fit. Ilike the idea of bare because you never have to worry about a nic or scratchs also shows more of the truck and how the body has been taken care of over the years. And nothing to hide behind paint and body filler i like it.

Thanks guys for the comments. I have to give my nephew credit, he's the man on this job.

He's new in the auto body business and things slow way done for him over winter. He picked the truck up in November and I told him to take his time, I didn't want it back until spring. He wants it completed to put in a local parade the end of May to advertise his business. He wants to specialize in older vehicles from start to finish.
 
Sounds like a great way to advertize! What is he using to get it down to bare metal, anyway? I've used a 3M wheel in a drill. It gets it down like that, but it take a long time. Just curious because I still have three fenders, a hood, two running boards and various other small parts to do. (I'm painting mine, however.)

Can't wait to see how yours turns out!
 
Zig, about every method was used in paint removal. Air sanders,block sanders, 3M drill operated and Scotch Bright pads. He may even applied some paint stripper?
 
Well it is getting closer guys. Should be on the road by next week? My nephew wants to put it in the local parade next Friday night and car show on Saturday to advertise his business.
