Powder Coating Running Boards

I was wondering if #1 any members have powder coated their running boards #2 if so does powder coating resist the gas that sometimes overflowes onto the running board.

# 3 (you forgot to ask) does the modern Foo-Foo " Motor Fuel (we don't get Gasoline in Ca. anymore) stain the podwer coating or make it bubble up and wrinkle , peel etc. ? NO .

My running boards aerw white and about 10 years old , so far so good .

Ron, I had my running boards powder-coated and they have so far resisted any gasoline staining if, god forbid, there should be any spilling. They have held up very well to foot traffic as well. I just wish I had know that the powder coater was gonna blow some holes in them whilst he was bead blasting them. I could have welded and ground them out of site.

Powder coating running boards.

I wonder , if you sand blasted the boards and painted them with surface paint at first or whas it painted with powder coat directly on the bear steel surface ?

have you considered one of the color matched bed linings? It'd be resistant to chemicals, give good traction and (at least according to their claims) can be color matched to almost anything.

I used black UV coated Line-X on my boards and it's great!
I even embossed a bowtie step on each side then sprayed overtop of it. No aluminum plate rusting out my board. Just have to tell the kids it will give you a mean carpet burn!
