Thanks for the compliments, this was definitely the largest undertaking I have ever taken as far as body work is concerned. I was a little worried at the "point of no return" when both cabs had the roofs out.

Beer did help, but there wasn't enough beer in the cooler to keep my patience for the windshield/ rear window installs though... Oh well, can't win them all huh?

I'll try to take some more pics tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

OK, I had a team come put my windshield and my back glass in this week....better them than me.

Is that windshield rubber stock? I've never seen one with chrome trim embeded like that.

Your interior is also coming along nicely, I'm sure that sound deadener will help out... my truck is loud without it! hopefully next summer

are you going to stick with the dummy light package or look for a deluxe insert with guages intead?

It's the "deluxe" windshield rubber. The truck had the trim in it when I got it, so I assume it's original.

I would like to lose the lights and get the full gauge cluster, but haven't gotten one yet.

I'm pretty happy with how the interior is coming along, but I still need to get some carpet, firewall pad, steering wheel, rear view mirror, put my new doors on, hook the heater back up, finish the window and door seals, find somewhere o put the speakers and clean up the seats...then I guess i'll start on the outside

It's not real sound deadener (just roofing seal), but it seems to be working ok and it's cheap

I'm hoping to finish the above work before it gets too cold, but we'll see...

Thanks Big Tim, I was thinking of covering my door panels, kick panels and maybe my dash, but I haven't had much luck with upholstery work in the past. So I'll probably just paint them.

new carpet/seats

its been a while since I have posted an update, but in the past few months I have changed my seats to a 60/40 bench from a 98 Silverado, replaced my doors, replaced all the window and door seals, put carpet in, put a fuel cell under the bed, replaced my wiper blades/arms probably other things I'm leaving out.

Thanks, progress is a good thing . I did hook up the power features. I don't have very many more pics right now, but if the weather is good I'll try to get some tomorrow.

This is a terrific thread , you have the 100 % correct American ' Can Do ! ' attitude so necessary to prevent the project from getting bogged down & abandoned .

You work looks very good to me too .

If you're interested , Standard Ignition Products still carried the correct " winged " ignition switch and lock cylinder with keys last time I checked .

Just be aware : the whole purpose of the winged ignition switch was so you could leave it shut off but unlocked and so just hop in and start it up without any key ~ you have to be careful to lock the ignition every time you park .

I've lurked around in the 47-54 forum and your truck is really nice.

My next project will be an AD truck...for my wife of course
