Go another easy one for those who have replaced the rockers. How easy and how clean is the job if I only replace the rockers and not the whole step?
Thanks and have a good one!! Steve [email protected]

Make sure you look carefully at the bottom of your step especailly where the brace is welded. I ended up replacing the entire step.

I am not a body man - so I had someone else do it. I purchased the step/rocker panel and I think he just cut the old one out and welded the new one in. I can check.

step removal

i removed both steps on my '58. grind away the paint or primer surrounding the outer edges of the step and look for the tack welds that hold the step in place. simply drill out those tack welds and you can pull the step out. put the new step in the same place and weld in your drilled out old welds.

Thanks a bunch cause I would have welded the whole thing in there and had a bigger mess. So, you from stinkin Lincoln? I used to live in Fair Oaks off Hazel and HWY 50. Miss it but not the traffic...yet
