I have a 55 first series sedan delivery on the Dallas Craigslist right now and a foreign accented "buyer" said to consider it sold. Very few questions just hurry and get it ready for pick up. I asked for an email address to send pictures to and a phone number to contact when ready but he said he would call me back to check its status. I told him my bank is one mile from the shop so bring 100 dollar bills which can be taken to the bank and tested. How are you betting on the call back to check status?

Yeah it sucks buddy! I'm sorry you have to have the expirence of a character like that waste your time! Dammit what's makes me mad is that it's idiots like that, that make it so difficult for us Europeans to buy stuff from the states!

Scammers are out there all the time

I had an experience some years ago with an american guy said he had moved temporary to Germany and then brought his truck with him to Stuttgard. The guy tryed to sell a truck he did `nt owned as i checked it up with USA registers . I even had contact with the original owner after looking at some pictures where a road cafe name whas viseble and warned him about this. The scammers phonenumber seems to be a public box number somewhere. And when i suggested to come to Germany to look at the truck he backed out and i never heard anything again of the guy.

The best way to buy is to look , drive some test drives , take a good inspection all around the object and do not pay anything in advance. Ask for papers and documentation aswell that the discribes the truck restoring prosess and VIN /frame numbers. Make a double check with public registers.

Welcome to the new world order  .

I used to buy & import cars from Europe & Japan from newspaper and magazine ads , often no pictures and I always got what I was told I was going to get .

No more . every vehicle I've bought off Flea-Bay , was seriously mis represented , I asked detailed questions & looked at the many photos , I still got burned , as I chose not to go look first , I took the hit and moved on . I plan to fix and keep this last one but " CAVEAT EMPTOR " has never been truer .
