Seat to floor springs

Hi

I just removed the seat from my chevy '65 for the first time. Below it there is 2 springs which are attached to the floor, but was not hooked to the seat anywhere - I guess they are suppose to?

Can anyone tell what these two are for, and where they shall be hooked?

Maybe a illustration or picture will help i possible.

Those were to hold your screw jack and handle in place.
