    Silver seal

I know this has nothing to do with cacti planting but was wondering about the heater core?

Yes , the Aluma Seal will do the job , unless your water jacket is all corroded and the coolant is nasty .

    You're welcome ! .

What do you think I keep in the Glove Box.....? .

yes , I'm one of those weirdos who likes to always keep a pair of gloves in the glovebox , as I don't close the window until my teeth chatter from the cold , they come in handy often during winter :) ,

Nate, I finally got the new Alum Rad in the ole Girl and heater hoses all hooked up along with hoses letting her run for about 3-4 mins and shut it off. low and behold heater core leaking into floor board. I am thinking your silver seal is the right idea what do you think?
    Thanks
    Karen

    Yep .

Just be aware , if there's rusty crud in the cooling system , you'll need to clean it first .

Use Citric Acid Powder mixed 1 # per gallon of distilled water , that'll make it shiny clean inside , then you fill it with 60/40 mix coolant and *one* tube of Silver Seal , you should be good to go .

The ole girl hasnt had any water in it for a long time and I got rid of the ole radiator and installed a new alum one. Filled it up with coolant and water let it run for a few mins and the heater core started leaking. When I ran some thru the petcock in the bottom of the radiator it looks great. So I think I'm good to go? Also how long does it need to run? Can't drive it on the road yet so will have to sit and run.

Don't leave it with plain water in it ! that'll cause serious corrosion very quickly .

If you can't drive it yet , drain the cooling system and when you can drive it , fill it with properly mixed coolant and distilled water then add *one* tube of Silver Seal , that oughta fix it .
