So I finally decided it was time to adjust my valves. I haven't put too many miles since the rebuild, but it has been well over five years. I knew the lifters were noisy, but I never realized that they were that far out of adjustment. I set them to .006 for intake and .013 for exhaust. I didn't check them, but it seemed like they were set to .020 for both. Its been long enough that I really don't remember what I did. Man, that 235 runs much quieter than I have ever heard it. There is still a bit of lifter tick, but absolutely nothing like it was. It almost makes me uneasy.
The interesting thing I found was that I had to readjust my idle air screw to smooth it out. I guess I'll soon see how it performs.
